static filtration

FILTRATION is intended to treat the harmfulness of particles, the chemical composition being not the only factor of harmfulness.  The finer the particles, the higher the health risks, as they can penetrate deep into the respiratory tract and reach the pulmonary alveoli. The lighter the particles, the longer they remain suspended in the air. This results in a longer exposure time for operators.

Filtration Objectives

       • Health Protection
            – Bacteria
            – Mould
            – Chemical contaminants
            – Combustion dust
           – Fibres, asbestos
          – 0 – 3 = deep penetration into the alveoli
          – 3 – 10 = breathable but partially stopped
         – 10 and PLUS = nonbreathable
    • Object protection:
        – Cleanliness of the premises
        – Protection of paintings, works of art
        – Reduced washing frequency
        – Protection of perishable foodstuffs
        – Avoid damage to circuits
        – Damage to:
                     – 0 – 3 = computers, electronics
                     – 3 – 10 = paintings, books, works of art
                     – 10 + = lights, coils, machines
